Tonight I am one of the many who now is continuing with health insurance!
But it was not an easy last few days...
Oh no, nothing I do in life is ever easy, hmm?
I can proudly say that my injury has allowed me to be mostly reclined in the chair with the same name, although called a "recliner"! Close enough; I would say? And due to that positioning, while utilizing my new techno marvel at a level that has not caused me too much difficulty...
Any-who, as any others who may have been in similar positions will tell you that the wait times to speak with actual people has been historically ridiculously long!
So much so that the computerized messages at the insurance company locations, toll free billing numbers asked if they could call you back in 24 to 48 hours! Folks this is NOT at the Healthcare.gov; it is at the actual insurance carriers!
And all I needed to do was to set up my own bill pay
for my bank, that is get my NEW policy number and address and phone number on that page with all my other household bills that I have paid that way for over a decade...
The biggest surprise, to me was to find out that Florida Blue billing that is Blue Cross and Blue Shield is sort of outsourced to Atlanta Georgia!
But no problem there once I gave them my name, rank and serial number, actually my name, address, DOB, date of birth, last four digits of my ss #, ya know the drill?
My insurance agent had been responsible for putting my plan into action, the system, so all I needed to do was pay my first month's premium.
The deadline has been extended until the end of the month and I was told that my payment today will be applied/mailed to Georgia by the 18th, and that is fine as long as it gets there on time; I am good. Also I was told once they receive my payment the ID cards get mailed, which is fairly typical to my long past knowledge of such things.
Moving on...
I am still homebound due to my lack of mobility and inability to sit upright but these things take time and with my meds I am not in as much pain, which is a good thing and I am smiling for that!
I know you can't see that but I am, believe me!
On that note of something noteworthy, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and please share all your overages with you know who and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
