Songwriters: C. TOBIAS, H. CARSTE

-words by Charles Tobias and music by Hans Carste
”Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer
Just fill your basket full of sandwiches and weenies
Then lock the house up, now you're set
And on the beach you'll see the girls in their bikinis
As cute as ever but they never get em wet
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
You’ll wish that summer could always be here
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer
Don't hafta tell a girl and fella about a drive-in
Or some romantic moon it seems
Right from the moment that those lovers start arrivin
You’ll see more kissin in the cars than on the screen
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
You’ll wish that summer could always be here
You’ll wish that summer could always be here
You’ll wish that summer could always be here”

For many, as their summer
draws closer to a close; with it nationally here nearly Labor Day, which falls
early for us, on September 2nd this year and many children up north
will be going back to school after the holiday… people long for the summer days
not to end… the lyrics above are so indicative of their reasoning…
But here, in Florida, our
children have already gone back to school, since like all other places in these
United States of America they must all have one hundred and eighty days of
school, but ours get out in May instead of June… thus them starting in August and
summer here lasts for ten months not just three and so all I have to say to the
rest of you is, BOORAH!
And thank the powers that be
that to date we have no vicious weather threatening any of us! Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah and once again Hallelujah!
I hope that my noticing of
that wonderful realization has not stirred the weather gods into thinking that
we are too happy about it being quiet from whence they usually come from
towards us and that in this hemisphere is off the coast of Africa!
We had a few possibilities
that thankfully fizzled and we will pray and hold our breaths that it will stay
that way forevermore. YOU HEAR THAT?
I’M SPEAKING AT YOU WEATHER
TERRORISTS! OR WHOEVER YOU ARE?
I know that in reality there
are no such things but, natural disasters have continually harmed our country
year after year…AND I WANT IT TO STOP! AND I KNOW THAT EVERYONE ELSE DOES TOO!
Right now fires caused by
natural plausible actions, such as lightening are in our western part of our
country displacing people and destroying beauty, as well as dwellings…tornadoes,
hurricanes and flooding et al has not seemed to stop plaguing our fine country
and so that is why I try periodically to mention this to anyone who will
listen.
Sure the economy stinks, and
many have not found jobs … but our infrastructures need rebuilding and our
government has not passed the monies to have people go back to work and make
livings fixing what needs to be done!
What a waste of people as assets
and sadly allowing things not to be taken care of in a timely fashion is obscene!
So many want and need work
and are capable so allow these groups to mesh, as it worked before and aided in
getting us out of depression during the 1930’s in our history it could happen
again!
The rich get richer, our
legislators, while regular folk suffer.
Our balance is off kilter,
and I do know that although this is America and we don’t have classes
per se; we actually do, have the obscene rich, the old money rich, neuvo rich,
the upper middle class, the middle class, lower middle class, the working poor,
plain poor and the destitute!
So although we say that we
don’t, in my opinion, we do!
Where was I?
Oh, that’s right ‘weather’,
and how it effects our economy, once it calms down is when we all should get those
powers that be to put people to work that can work and need to work, okay! Repeat
after me, OKAY!
Something to talk about?
Bonnie Raitt Something To Talk About Lyrics
Songwriters: Eikhard, Shirley
People are talking, talking 'bout people
I hear them whisper, you won't believe it
They think we're lovers kept under cover
I just ignore it, but they keep saying
We laugh just a little too loud
We stand just a little too close
We stare just a little too long
Maybe they're seeing something we don't, Darlin'.
Let's give them something to talk about
Let's give them something to talk about
Let's give them something to talk about
How about love?
I feel so foolish; I've never noticed
You'd act so nervous,
Could you be falling for me?
It took a rumor to make me wonder
Now I'm convinced that I'm going under
Thinking 'bout you every day
Dream 'bout you every night
I'm hoping that you feel the same way
Now that we know it, let's really show it, Darlin'.
Let's give them something to talk about
A little mystery to figure out, babe
Lets give them something to talk about
How about love, love, love?
Let's give them something to talk about babe,
A little mystery to figure out,
Let’s give them something to talk about,
How about love?”
I hear them whisper, you won't believe it
They think we're lovers kept under cover
I just ignore it, but they keep saying
We laugh just a little too loud
We stand just a little too close
We stare just a little too long
Maybe they're seeing something we don't, Darlin'.
Let's give them something to talk about
Let's give them something to talk about
Let's give them something to talk about
How about love?
I feel so foolish; I've never noticed
You'd act so nervous,
Could you be falling for me?
It took a rumor to make me wonder
Now I'm convinced that I'm going under
Thinking 'bout you every day
Dream 'bout you every night
I'm hoping that you feel the same way
Now that we know it, let's really show it, Darlin'.
Let's give them something to talk about
A little mystery to figure out, babe
Lets give them something to talk about
How about love, love, love?
Let's give them something to talk about babe,
A little mystery to figure out,
Let’s give them something to talk about,
How about love?”

Stop me I am too much!
On those thoughts to ponder…
allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and
kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know who
and we will too!
And next time please be here
or be square, ya hear!
PS I dare you to not start
singing or humming those tunes!
