People who send you scary snail mails claiming that you will have excessive expenses if you do not buy their additional insurance for your water lines going into your home!
Oddly enough, Hubby called them when he received one addressed to him; he told them that the lines going into the house do not cost $7,000 dollars to replace with the price of PVC pipes and digging a hole to find the leak you only have to eyeball it where the ground is wet! Cost for doing such a project, less than twenty-five bucks, but with two days of digging without their overpriced equipment that does the hand digging for ya!
That is of course if you happen to have been someone who was an apprentice plumber while going to college for engineering and installed many bathrooms during that time as well as other pipe related necessities and then later on had worked for an underground sprinkler company and learned the business and in turn had your own underground sprinkler system company from that experience, for nearly a decade in NJ and not only did private homes but commercial installations, such as retirement villages, the second largest in Ocean County!
DIY, doing it yourself is a piece of pie, when you have the know how,
hmm?
Hubby, consequently, gave them a piece of his mind and told them to remove him from their mailing list, and that was weeks ago.
So why am I writing about this after the fact; I received the same mailer/ spiel telling me the same thing today!
And so I called and repeated what Hubby had said and also asked how come they cannot cross reference the same address and to please remove me from the mailing list. I know that I have signed up for do not call and do not mail too, somewhere, years ago…
I know that all of this stuff is done by computer sorting, and I suppose they still have not come far enough to realize that cross matching names with addresses are too much to ask; hmm, only time will tell how it all proceeds…
The long and short of it all is that if you do not live with or aren’t a DIY’er than you might be tempted to take their mere sixty dollars a year insurance, even if you never need it…
Although, for us in over forty years of being home owners, since December of 1972 our first home, after two years of renting, we haven’t.
But to be honest Hubby could handle it if need be, for you it might be beneficial, but to me/us it is just another scam.
So many people want you to think you need things that you don’t really need at all, be careful.
Ask someone you respect; check with law enforcement locally.
Check Angie’s List they appear to be reputable.
We didn’t join Angie's List due to not needing any contractors as of yet, even our second home a bi-level that we owned in NJ, we built ourselves, our first was a new townhouse, in a condo complex, already built.
Others we renovated here in Florida, two on the east coast and this one on this west coast, we did twice, only due to the hurricane having its way with it.
And so we may not be typical to nix the type of services of other kinds of home insurances.
We, of course, have the normal necessary types, wind, fire, sinkhole, flood, theft, mold and all other disasters we could endure possibly or not, here in Florida, but water line replaced? Nah, not that big a deal for us… here in HURRICANE SEASON we have more thoughts of concern on our agendas, but none at this time of the hurricane type in our vicinity, right now, thankfully!
Beautiful! I think, but I am
prejudice since I am the happy parent of a new life being born…

with you know who and we will too!
And next time please be here
