Have you ever wondered why?
Sure you have and we all
have.
About anything and everything
for me, and I bet many of you too.
I was the type of kid that
was lucky enough to have a set of encyclopedias in white leather with gold
lettering my World Books that matched my white French provincial furniture set
that was my pre-teen and teenage bedroom!
And with them I became a
wanderer, a vagabond a traveler, a gal with the ability to get side-tracked.
You see, I would start to
look up something, perhaps for school or someone said something to me to make
me wonder and than I would go on to the next ‘pedia page’, and from there
another and another, they would tell me things that I only had a small
possibility of knowing before that awakening and I would have all those
factoids running through my large youthful semi empty brain that since has
shrunk to wee…… I devoured that info as if it were a fancy foo foo dessert!
My quest was insatiable.
I loved those ancient forms
of informing.
And that is where my desire
to be informed began.
I am sure that you too had
similar stories or experiences that caused you to enjoy ransacking
informational guidance materials, and that is only said without violent intent;
but with a thirst for knowledge, as the expression goes, and set me on the
trail to voracious reading. Good job Mom and Dad, for being the ones who gave
me the almighty deity of informational material prior to all these techno
marvels availability to the masses.
That took another twenty or
so years.
Moving on…
Have you ever wondered why
some ailments appear to be chronic?
I mean other than my MS, optic
neuritis, severe dry eyes, arthritis, high blood pressure and cholesterol and
hypothyroidism; I also suffer from sinusitis.
I know it’s extremely
annoying and many years ago I had allergies too that were causing migraines and
allergic rhitinitis!
And so I went to an allergist who tested me
and found out by doing that nasty skin test, that I was allergic to everything
except tobacco, and pets! After six months of desensitizing injections weekly I
was miraculously well!
So I am baffled by these last
couple of years of having a daily issue with my sinuses, stuffy, sneezing and
pain in the cheeks and head which just adds to all my other woes…annoying!
And so with all the meds that
I am on the only thing that I have been able to do is use the Simply Saline
solution, which does seem to help, somewhat.
I did have a nasal polyp too
all those years ago, 35, and even my MRI’s these last two years for my MS have
shown progression of left maxillary sinus mucosal thickening since the previous
year 2-12, for this year's 2-13 MRI!
With this annoyance more frequent
at times like now I decided to finally try and find a local ENT, since my
insurance covers whomever I chose now, in or out of network for the same $25.
I found one nearby and so tomorrow
I will call him, he even went to the University
of Florida in Gainesville for medical school; our younger
son is a grad from there too, but their nuclear program, first USF, then Navy,
then there.
Any-who, I am very concerned
that I may have another nasal polyp and interestingly enough it too could be
causing my headaches and eye problems and so wouldn’t that be something?
- A runny nose
- Persistent stuffiness
- Postnasal drip
- Decreased or absent sense of smell
- Loss of sense of taste
- Facial pain or headache
- Pain in your upper teeth
- A sense of pressure over your forehead and face
- Snoring
- Itching around your eyes”
I have nine of those
symptoms!
We all know that self
diagnosis can be dangerous, but follow-up with a physician is appropriate in
this day and age with such incredible access to the net in all its informational
glory! Me too!
On that note with many highs
incorporated within, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very
happy good night and kindly ask you to count all your blessings and share all
your overages with you know who and we will too!
And next time please be here
or be square, ya hear!
