Mother's Day!

Below are a few legitimate sites to access for the children to know why we celebrate this day.

And that takes care of why today is called what it is, oh wait, but shouldn’t everyday be Mother’s and Father’s Day.
As you can see that was rhetorical.

Moving on…
Lazy days are great especially when your celebration was pro-rated or pre-done or previously celebrated?
Ah that’s it!
And yes we did have a lovely day with our number one son and darling lady.
They arrived early for them around noon and presented me with three, make that four gifts, a carnation, a Powerball ticket for last night (not one single number) and scratch off (won two bucks!) and a gift card for Beall’s for way too much money and we chatted for a while, not quite an hour than we went to our pre-arranged designated restaurant. They were treating and no, ifs ands or buts… it was Mother’s Day!
Number one and I had discussed a place that we had all been to together previously that suited our diverse pallets.
Although, we had forgotten to discuss my most recent mode of transportation, but Hubby was not concerned.
Being a wheelchair is an advantage and also disadvantage at times, aw heck all times but we do what we have to do.
In that fact that it is an advantage, I can still go out when if we didn’t have it I might not have been able to. But when you enjoy a buffet on occasion, yes, I do know they are very bad for me, but not too often and so they then they are okay.
The best time to think this way is when you have more than yourselves to please with many different tastes in types and genres of food, The Hibachi Grill suited those tastes.
I can recall when our sons were teenagers and would invite a friend or two to come with out to dinner, in those days on the other coast, while in Ormond Beach and I was thin we would go to a place called, Duffs. The local football team would take all the players there. It was great for large groups who wanted all different types of food.

Our son and his girlfriend are no longer children but both suffer from certain food allergies and they know specifically what they can and can not eat. Our son recently became allergic to shell fish, as a child he was not and his gal cannot eat anything with onions or dairy and few other things that I can’t seem to remember and so when they come down we do go out, two out of every three visits, kidding I don’t know!

It is easier on Hubby anyway with me not able to hold my own and not wanting these two hardworking kids to have to do-a-thing!
Kids, that is rather funny, since she is forty-three and our son will be forty-one, perspective again they are ours, kids that is.

We came home from our gluttony, which due to me being asked what I would like as Hubby filled my plate, a couple of times… I do know I ate less than if I had my own easier access, really!

Before we left I had closed the guest-room door with its white carpet and new whiter than the old cream eyelet bedspread one we had for years and now has been designated for a winter look and to keep Skipper the door is closed on leaving, a recent tradition, to keep our loving canine dust/grass magnet out. I snuck Number One’s present out of that closet onto the bed, so he did not know… But when we came back, I asked him nonchalantly
to open the guest-room door for me, as I took a seat in my recliner in the living-room.
He found it!

To our surprise he did like the two shirts and shorts that Hubby and I picked out for him, from dare I say, Beall’s, but the outlet nearby our home.
They are first quality and in the rare chance he didn’t like them I saved all the tags and receipt, but he did!

Now with that enormous meal the customary lighting and consuming of the ice cream cake was baffling to me and to Hubby and his girlfriend who I sneakily, so he didn’t know, let her in on the additional festivities. Around dinner time I asked if anyone was hungry since we had a few snack like items fruit salad homemade, chesses and crackers that sort of thing.
And surprisingly, all were a bit interested and so we sat at the table… and than into the living-room again… with our newest addition of the herb garden it does make it slightly harder to see into the kitchen, especially while sitting on the sofa… and so it was a perfect time to remove the cake and put it in the fried to defrost, according to its direction, a half hour to forty minutes before cutting.

Fortunately, they decided to stay longer than I even hoped for and so chatted some more and more and more...
Until, I got Hubby’s attention and he went into the fridge or it could have been me and the girlfriend, my memory isn’t what it used to be, well duh, look who I am talking to, sorry, off track any-who some how it got on the  marble raise cheese/cake/stand with all its candles lit! I did six, four for each decade and one for the extra year and than the last one for luck! After thirty there is a tendency to create a fire hazard, methinks! I sued to buy the decade number and than the extra ones, but who knows when you would use those again, really!
Those ones that don’t blow out are my favs but I got yelled at too many times and so…

Anyway, we had cake, Hubby cleaned up again.
We chatted some more and than it was wow nine P.M. and they had a couple of hours to drive home and so we called a night!
It was a great day, and I hope that yours were too… And so Happy Mother’s Day to all and to all a very Happy Good Night!
Now allow to ask you to kindly count all your blessings, which today probably provided you with more… and share those overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?!
