And so our server was down a
good part of the day, CenturyLink; didn’t matter though we had places to go and
people to see…Sure we did!
Today we left for the
gym/rehab at around elevenish and guess what? Not only did I remember my
cooling vest, I did ten minutes on the arm cycle, same as always, but… upped
ten more reps on the slanted board!
From there we went over to Wally
World so I could do my latest project and their prices fit our budget.
Below you will see what’s what;
an indoor herb garden was on the agenda, especially since we all love good fun
to grow herbs. But here’s where it gets a little iffy, since our kitchen is in
a great room with the only window a nine foot picture window actually in the
living-room and it faces north where the sun is now nearly summer! While in the winter that
is just honky dory since the sun is in our back windows to the south, thus our
sun-room location. Got that? Hubby helped me to get it… directions jokes fondly
not accepted, what the heck, go ahead. And yes, my herbs need full sun, but this
is diffused light since that large window has an overhang exteriorly.
Acclimation is what I am
hoping for, but if all else fails they may be wintering in the sun-room or if
that fails, last resort, out-side under Hubby’s care, which he is not that thrilled
with.
What brought this on, believe it
or not was the Kentucky Derby, yep, I asked Hubby to buy a mint plant from the
grocery to help with making our yearly mint juleps.
Why buy dry or extract when
you can have the real thing, but I do know that mint has a way of taking over
gardens and so I felt if it was contained indoors that might be a better way.
Plus with me trying to garden again this time inside in Florida, weird to me, our seven houseplants needed friends. To
think I used have thirty-three in NJ, houseplants that is. Gave quite a few away when we moved to Florida and the ones I took
to Florida I planted in our first home’s garden, never thinking we were moving
ever again… this is our third Florida home, but last, sure hope so anyway!
Back to this evening’s
quickie project, like falling off a horse really.
First get a container that
suits your specific needs and size in this case does matter! The one below is
two feet long by only 6.15 inches high and 7.5 inches deep. It is lightweight
plastic with an attached saucer and a support wire to retain its shape, nice
touch and believe it or not it cost only $6.97?
Each potted herb was $3.38
each, the seeds were only $1.28 and Hubby never said how much he paid for the
very large peppermint plant, oh well, since it was at the grocery it was
probably twice as much but it was also twice as large too.
Below are the herbs, not most
usual suspects, a bit unique for some…English lavender, chocolate mint,
peppermint, cilantro, and lastly dill seeds were planted. Hopefully, the aroma
in our home has been upped too! Who doesn’t love that?
On that note of something to
talk about, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good
night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your
overages with you know who and we will too!
And next time please be here
or be square, ya hear?!
