That is if four A.M. is still considered the ‘wee’ in the wee hours’ concept. I suppose like everything else in life it is a matter of perception.
Now if you got to work at that hour like many in the morning TV industry to them I imagine that is not such a wee hour time of day. But if you work the so-called regular hours of 9 to 5, which no one actually does, that might seem a bit early to you?
On the other hand if you work the night shift and start midnight that four A.M. could be your lunch hour?
Or any combinations of any of those above scenarios;
see a matter of ‘perception’?
Where was I?
That’s right, awakening early, yes, I do that every other week and it is usually due to a headache causing me to have no other choice but to rise and shine although the sun has no idea that it really should do it too? HA!
These last two times that my head awoke me I for the lack of a better reason thought to myself, what would cause me to have that type of headache so severe to jar me out of a somewhat deep sleep?
And so in order to narrow things down I took my glucose and each time it was higher than a normal not yet diabetic would have, being fasting and all; first time it was all the way up to 179 and this last time a few hours later in the night or this last one at the wee hour of four A.M., was 130, normal is below 120 or 100. I just think it is weird that the two times in the last couple of weeks that I awoke too early were due to headaches and both times my glucose was not in the normal, non-diabetic range if fasting.
I placed a call to my new pharmacist with the new Express Scripts/ Medco and they say that they are available 24/7 or so it says somewhere…and this was my first call to them since I had been officially with them this past November. My question had more to do with my newer higher dose of the Gabapentin at 600 MG. 3X a day, compared to my older dosage of 300 MG. 3X a day, the lower dose and that one was yellow and a capsule, while the newer higher dose one was an elongated white caplet. I was wondering if the type of pill meant that there was possibility that one was slow release and the other was not.
The pharmacist was available, but I had waited until after seven A.M., not that early I suspect if they are truly available 24/7, hmm?
And he said neither was slow release and the type had to do with the milligrams not anything more than that!
Okay, this is the year that I do believe I am learning more than I have learned in a really long time and that is very good for me.
I also had the good sense to mention my anomaly with the headache and glucose and I had thought I had read online that Gabapentin can have a negative affect on glucose and could cause headaches, but as many other medications do too, diabetics do take them in spite of it…and he confirmed that it can cause glucose to go up and a headache… I forgot to ask the part about if that will cause a false positive on an A1C test that determines if you truly are one, a diabetic.
I was on the lower dose when my A1C had gone up slightly, hmm?
The headache issue is only a bigger issue if it becomes more often than once a week or three times a month and so far it hasn’t been.
Thankfully, I do seem to recall I did mention to my GP that I thought I had read that somewhere about the Gabapentin causing glucose to rise and I hope she too has a chance to follow-up on that.
But all in all, my sleep pattern, except for those couple of times has improved considerably; a few times I even slept till eight! Miraculous for me and something I would love to continue, part of the weight issue has to do with not getting proper rest, most of the professionals determined years ago for the population, not just me.
As I learn some more in life about life’s issues I do enjoy sharing with you and if I can help one person than my job is worth doing… but not to seem ridiculous but the pay is rather light…kidding!
On that note of not any note except if it helps you, to note… allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and to kindly count your blessings and share those overages with you know who and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?!
