A few accomplishements in the medical test wars...

Feeling better about today’s testing being insured and all. I had my yearly mammogram and my first in about seven years bone density test. The best part of the mammogram was the radiologist is right on site and comes in after checking over the pics, which I did smile in again, and tells you exactly if there is anything to have further investigating about, right there right then, pretty nifty, hmm? (It took two techs to help with the photos due to me being in a chair now. PS I wish I had parathesia of the boobies, maybe not really, who knows… but alas I do not and it all ouched quite a bit, as usual! Although, pain makes you know that you are still alive…true?) She, Dr. Rocco the radiologist said that it all looks good and that I should come back next year for a return trip, as I have been doing since the age of thirty-five. And then told me as part of the needle biopsy I had had last year they had installed a titanium marker in my right breast where they looked for cancer, thankfully none was found, benign then and still good now. The bone density results will take two days to get to my new internist doc with those results and so she should have them easily by Monday. It was a quarter after twelve when all was said and done so instead of going home we went over to the Cultural Center for lunch and to see if anything was going on… the usual games it appeared, Mahjong, cards and chess etc. Hubby rolled me around the place and we decided to have lunch both choosing something we don’t usually buy but like just the same, Kabasi and Sauerkraut with smashed red potatoes and steamed mixed vegetables all for $6.95 each! Can’t beat that, hmm? Of course there we drink our own waters and so aside from tax that was our lunch… dinner was my homemade chicken soup from two nights’ ago. Big lunch equals light dinner, hmm? When we entered the parking lot there we noticed the signs that they were doing free memory testing compliments of the Alzheimer’s Association; we saw that they had a trailer and thought that they had no way for me to go in to be tested, but we were wrong. After asking inside if perhaps they were also set up inside the facility they said inside said that they might have a lift for wheelchairs and sure enough they did! The test took about fifteen minutes in spite of my incessant talking, and I did alright, except for the depression part which I felt did not have enough grey areas, your choices were either yes or no, not sometimes or other mid-road concepts and I got 6 out of a possible 15, not very good, but honest on how I feel about myself sometimes. But on the memory one, I practically aced it with a 29/30 score and the only reason I got 29 instead of 30 is because when told to pick up the paper with my right hand I used both hands, oh poo! Thirty would be a perfect score. That is a listening issue, but that’s not new…ha! After that we went to Lowe’s for bug b gone for the yard; our neighbor has three dogs and apparently they had fleas so he had the grass sprayed and now we have them when we haven’t had any and so of course Skipper started itching and while I was having my morning tests Hubby went down to Skipper's vet to get his oral flea pills that are a few months early for even here! And of course his special medicated shampoo too. While at Lowe’s I found some pretty succulent house plants and a simple Terra cotta pot for them and yes they are all installed in our sun-room here as you can see by the PIC, but sadly I forgot to try my new phone camera since we were at home for the PIC...!
On that note of getting it all done with some fun, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know who… sadly they’re getting more nasty snowy weather on top of Sandy’s wrath and we will share those blessings too! And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?!
