Lunch and a show...

Exciting times around here today that is when we make the effort to leave the compound and venture out into the real extraordinary world that we call paradise… Besides all the beaches for shelling and the waters for boating, fishing and swimming we have a bit of culture too… As in our annual Art Show at Fisherman’s Village in River City AKA Punta Gorda. After spending forty-five minutes driving in circles to find a handicapped space we had arrived, in more ways than one…the place was mobbed! And again I have provided a pictorial; of the experience there as for you to feel that you were too… Below is our favorite restaurant, you can eat in or outside, being it was in the eighties we chose indoors in air-conditioning. When we have Skipper with us we will eat outside, with the harbor view.
Below are what we saw, many were different ideas in three dimensions, others were different concepts of older concepts.
This young man and his brother have interesting mediums to create their pleasing to the eye unique art wall-hangings. They use sand from Siesta Key, with shells and cement produce amazingly beautiful pieces to decorate any home. A process that was begun by their parents, and their grandmother was the sand plaques painter, a family business in the truest sense of that meaning. Their site is: www.islandsandsculptures.com, to peruse or order from their lovely inventory.
Last but not least I saved the best for last that is in my weird way of thinking… now PETA don’t get angry with me, but in my opinion this family puts our outrageous over abundance of infamous pets let loose in the Everglades to a very practical use, using their pelts/skins for good! On that note of hopefully some interesting note, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too! And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?!
