Organizational skills...

Yesterday, I was discussing organizing a pantry and this afternoon I was talking to organizations to help with my fiercely expensive co-pay for my Copaxone. You see, it’s like this the total is $850 including the $500 deductible which leaves the $350 for the three month’s supply. With all my other laundry lists of meds it seems to be frustrating to think that it is not including my $432 a month insurance premium, which is extra? Today I got all self pitying and said to Hubby that it would be cheaper for me to die, since even though it’s not accepted as part of my religion, as a Jew, although, I act more agnostic and I am sure that makes it okay with them, I want to be cremated. And that would only be one charge of perhaps the premium and the deductible and the co-pay for a month? And that does appear to be more cost effective as I see it, but it’s only an idea and a last resort to keep expenses down. KIDDING! I know not very funny, but unfortunately true… money wise. Stupid me I had to have insurance, trying to be a big shot or a normal big girl, well I got half that right! Bud dump bum... Don’t worry, after I saw the new gastro doc and was told they got it all set up for my Nexium and it was very difficult for them to do. I beg to differ I had to give them my info so they could take the first three months out of my account. He, the doc said it was not easy, and I said that they told me it would be fine. He is a go as I need to now. Anyway, we came home to have lunch and then I called the number the Shared Solutions lady told me to call today to check on my Copaxone being taken care of with a co-pay assistance program and it was the wrong organization number, but they said it happens often and gave me the other number and they, when called said they do not help people with high co-pays only the uninsured, Methinks I was better off being without…huh? They were kind enough to tell me of other organizations to contact for high co-pays assistance, which are below for any of you who may see the need and I also heard from NORD, National Organization for Rare Disorders, they were the first to help fund my Copaxone two and half years ago. I had emailed them, since they only have a D.C. and CT number not any 800 numbers, although I forget that my ancient cell phone has four thousand or more roll over minutes and it is good all over the US of A! Meanwhile, Hubby for the heck of it looked it up under his Medicare, i.e. my Copaxone and Universal insurance just for the heck of it, since all his meds are covered for himself and the most his co-pay has been is $6… well Copaxone under his wonderful insurance MY COPAXONE WOULD BE $1325 co-pay a month! He looked in his book to check… that is ridiculous! Guess if I don’t get this Multiple Sclerosis medication that has warded off my exacerbations since June of 2011, I guess I will have to wean myself into nothingness…cold turkey and let the MRI’s lesions fall where they may…oh poo, sorry, there I go again… But seriously folks I hope that someone will have some luck and with ease of process… each time I try it’s like giving birth with heavy labor. And that’s what my spasms lately have been like, labor pains, even with all my anti-spasmodics, Baclofen and Gabapentin, crazy, perhaps I should reconsider my first cost effective option…KIDDING AGAIN! Any-who, we just got a phone call from number one son, and it was nice. On that happy gleeful note allow me to be the first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know who and we will too! And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?!
