Can't complain, when you love the people who visit!

Sure, who would invite people that they don’t love? There was a day when I went through a people pleasing phase. And yes, that meant I would tell friends or family to bring along people that they knew and we did not know, so how would we know if we loved them or not, anyway, hmm? That’s just the way I used to roll. My tune was ‘the more the merrier’… But today reminded me sadly that I cannot say that anymore, since my body lied to me on how it was up to the festivities. To my horror and shame my body became a spastic mess. Feet, legs, hips, neck and back all doing those nasty gyrations I have mentioned so many times before… but not to any music! Should have asked for an accompaniment, ya think really. Hubby says it was because I did too much. I was proud of the fact that since it was his birthday I tried hard not to ask him to do too much, although that did not work out too well… more about that later. Any-who, before he arose at his usual time I had made biscuits from scratch, and got the pumpkin pie ready for the oven, all the timing just right to prep the turkey and put that in when the pie came out and then we would eat our breakfast and I would shower after the turkey went in. And all went according to plan, no stress, just a planned attack of preparations and I was in fine form and it all went well; even having the cheese and veggie plates ready as well as the dates and figs, all simple nutritious snacks before dinner at two. Everything went smoothly, except the heat factor of the oven on for all that cooking, and I suppose that was more the cause of what happened than overdoing! Oh all right perhaps both. Hubby had to roll me into bed and turn the air on low to 74, actually elder son did that, with the paddle fan above me on too, and then I was ready to take my Baclofen with other meds, my usual after dinner regime. The group went outside for a look around and to enjoy the yard, but the wasps nest in the motors to the lift. Our elder son nearly got stung and tossed the cover down to the ground and it did not crack. My explanation of asking Hubby for additional help... Oh yes my intentions were true and honest, but sadly too many of the things I needed were in too high up locations and so Hubby being much taller than I did the reaching and some were so high up he needed the step ladder and that is high! But then the sweet potatoes that he was kind enough to peel for me… I had said I would cut them in slices, but it never happened, when did sweet potatoes become so hard? The last time I cut them up I don’t recall them being like the density of petrified wood, ya know? So those were the things I asked Hubby to do, oh wait one more embarrassing thing, his birthday candles needed lighting and the long candle lighter thingy wasn’t working anymore, and unfortunately he still smokes but none of the rest of do… so I had to ask him to light his own birthday candles, shame on me! Good thing only loved ones were here. Makes it forgivable, hmm? On that note of loved ones are the best and all did pitch in as we all know they do…So now allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you kindly to count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too! And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
