One, singular sensation...

Neglect is unacceptable!
And so I will now rectify that and explain my personal views about the too soon death of an incredibly brilliant talented and versatile composer/conductor, Marvin Frederick Hamlisch, who passed away on August 6th, 2012 at the way too young age of sixty-eight, due to a brief illness.

He was one of an elite group of people who are proud to be called EGOT’ s, Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony recipients. He also received a Pulitzer Prize and two Golden Globes.

I would have to say entertainment/the arts, and those of us who appreciate being entertained have lost an incredible person who brought the world such joy … and yes, nobody DID it better…
He will be sorely missed by all who knew his enormous body of work.

Kiddies, I have enclosed a listing for you to access this amazing beings legacy: Copy and paste and read at your leisure and see how greatness is accomplished:

Moving on…
Here in nearby River City AKA Punta Gorda, actually Port Charlotte, Florida, we have been keeping track of the action across the pond, in Jolly Olde, England, UK, specifically London and more specifically the happenings of how well us, USA, USA, USA is doing and we are doing absolutely marvelous! Our Gold medals are perfection at 46, our Silver are solid at 29 count, as well as our Bronze count too, also 29, our unbelievable total is a whopping… drum roll please…104!
How’s that world; who says America was loosing our touch on the world stage! But a big fat no to that; for as, Mohamed Ali used to say, “WE are the GREATEST!”
He actually would say that he was, but close enough.
Uh oh, did I say that out loud?
Sorry world, but you have to admit we did real good over there…nothing wrong with confidence as long as no one mistakes it for arrogance! No Ugly Americans here our economical situation has humbled us all and the world too…all in the same boat, so to speak, hmm? Nothing like the Olympics to make us all take a time out about thinking about all of that.

Any-who, no wars have ever been started over being the best in the Olympics, have they? Nah, but bragging about some things maybe… Okay hush, hush I will whisper, “We are oh so terrific, yeah!”…I am using my inside voice, okay world?
Closing Ceremonies begin here at 8:30 P.M. EST; London by then we will be all done with them, competitions that is, until Brazil 2016!

Tonight I have given you a break with my much briefer expose of what I wished to express, and I so do hope that it was enough for your discernable tastes of such things… on that who knows what of some note I hope, allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you to kindly to count your blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

PS Most all of the musicals that I know the words to were written by Marvin Hamlisch and so I challenge my Facebook friends to start a list of their most unforgettable ones of his…sorry to be redundant but, “Nobody Does It Better” is one of mine, and could be our tune for the Olympics, although, it would be tough for me to choose just one; I love them all.
