Pests in the garden...

Pests, yes a few nasty little guys, worms on our over one hundred and fifty tomatoes!
But Hubby is on the job with his ‘Safe Insecticidal Soap’ spray.
That stuff takes care of most all the veggie interlopers and that is quite refreshing since that garden is chemical free and compost was used for the soil to create those wonderful abundant plants to thrive!
By our pond garden area we think we may have another horrible intruder, but we are waiting to hear back from the professionals it may be the cute little frog I had Hubby photograph for my Facebook page may very well he might be that infamous Cuban Tree Frog, which is not indigenous to Florida and is toxic and harmful to all other frogs and eats everything it can get a hold of.

Cute, but he can sure fool you.
Almost looks like a bat in our birdhouse that Hubby made, he really was looking forward to some feathered friends to take up the homestead, not this critter. He felt if this one was enjoyed he would make some more with all the cedar fencing we have left, but now we are on hold. PS we have pretty painted ones on the side of our shed, but it appears that lizards are living in them?

Tonight is new for me to try this adding in a PIC and if it works you may be seeing me doing more of the same.

So far, I contacted the county extension to get some logical feedback on the little demon, because if it a Cuban tree frog it multiplies quite prolifically and can kill off our fish in our pond by taking all the oxygen out of the water from too many tadpoles placed there. Their toxicity is also dangerous to household animals if they try to catch them or eat them it can be lethal.
But my contact there emailed back that she is on maternity leave, and gave me the name of a colleague in her instant message to contact and so I will. We also have the ability to try asking the Mote Marine laboratories since they have many biologists there too, and have been helpful in the past with other previous questions.
It’s so nice to have access and the knowledge of the how to find out things you don’t know but would like to.
You see these little darlings resemble other harmless species and we would hate to destroy them if they are those beneficial ones.
Yes, I did say destroy, but in a humane way I would think that is why those two agencies will be contacted again.

On that note of trying to resolve a real issue of life in the slow lane…Let me be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count those blessings and to share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
