We are living in River City with sin sin sin,(Music Man) all over again? Huh?

During 1920’s, the Roaring Twenties that was supposedly a vulgar time in our history with people drinking and dancing in Speak Easys during prohibition, short dresses and bobbed hair! OMG! The 1960's were called the Sexy Sixties when we would shout, MAKE LOVE NOT WAR and had the audacity to put flowers and peace signs all over our Volkswagen Bugs; wild times! It was our time when an Afro was a hairstyle; not just a nationality, and a mini was a skirt, not a car.
In the 1980’s our children were exposed to cable, movies in our homes, some had been rated R, and that was for sexual innuendo or nudity and or violence that had crashing car chases.
And our sons grew up not becoming rapists or murderers, and so sexually responsible we are still not grandparents; even by accident!

The reason I am discussing this instead of our election which is out of my hands as I write this and since I have already committed my responsibility by voting a week ago.
The topic on tonight’s news was about how teens are becoming too promiscuous, and again no parents are involved in the blame, but you guessed it…TV and Movies get that noble culpability; or at least partial fault.
You see the TV and Movies are NOT controlled by families with all those locks and special keys they have now on them. Please technology today has given parents the ability to activate a metaphoric chastity belt on their youngins from their place of business, the grocery, or in transit in the car! You parents have cell phones, don’t you? Puleese why blame the media again for your lack of censure of your children’s viewing of what you consider to be unwise choices? I want to slap all those professionals in their self effacing barren childless faces.
Parents are responsible for their offspring’s morality as well as their emotional growth as in coping with the word, NO!
Perhaps if it is said, test yourselves, you can do it.
I do agree that today R should be X and that is why as parents they not others should be the ones in control of their children’s entertainment choices, but even I think that we cannot accuse them of causing premature pregnancy or wanton behavior.
Unless, the parents are purposefully teaching that behavior at home by showing them that they have no family of their own to rely on or to talk to about what bothers them openly without criticism or shocked looks from family?
You talk and listen? Then I guess you’re good.
Children should be allowed to talk with and to their parents about anything, and that relationship should make the other stuff, discussed above not happen.
Don’t be shy, you made them, treat them like the beings that you love and care about unconditionally, unflinchingly no matter what.

On that note I will say good night and say only ONE MORE DAY, and we will know…
More, hopefully tomorrow night!
